SNORE presents KC HiLiTES Midnight Special Saturday
The Southern Nevada Off Road Enthusiasts (SNORE) will present the 31st annual KC HiLiTES Midnight Special Saturday evening in Jean.
With 13 categories competing, the race will consist of 52-mile laps with Class 1, 10, 12, Unlimited Trucks, 1600 and Class 5 running five laps.
Class 7, Trophy Lites, Class 9 and 5-1600 categories will cover four laps, while Stock Bug will run three laps.
The race is scheduled to start at 7 p.m., and will include an eight-hour time limit.
The start-finish line will be at the Jean Dry Lake off the old L.A. Highway. It can be found by taking Night Ranch Road east approximately one half mile.
SNORE officials said the event has attracted 147 entries including B.J. Baldwin of Las Vegas (TROPHYLITE); Kenny
Freeman of Henderson (1600); points leader C.J Hutchins of Henderson (Class 10); Caliente 250 winner T.J. Flores (Class 1); Southern Californian Brian Deegan of The Metal Mulisha; and ESPN announcer Cameron Steele of San Clemente, Calif. (Unlimited Truck).
Hutchins has powered to the lead through three races in the 2008 Kartek SNORE series with 2,325 points over Class 9 driver Brandon Hughes, who has 2,180 points.
The top five in the overall points also include Stock Bug driver Ed Mahoney, 2,080; 5/1600 driver Rulo Salano, 2062; and Flores, 1,974.
